[ This doesn't sound like Vietnam at all? But the recipient seems eager to continue, and Siegfried always welcomes the opportunity to learn new things. ]
Yes, it's a very clever evolution, I think.
I've always been impressed by the weight ants are capable of carrying, but one hundred times their size? It makes one grateful that they're minuscule— any larger, and they'd be monstrous.
Speaking of ants, I recall something interesting I read in a book. Ants don't have ears, perse. Rather than hearing using auditory canals, they have sensors on their feet that process the vibrations of the ground. Of course, their antenna help them get around their surroundings, too.
Whoa, so they like, hear with their feet?? [ Jester no ]
Ants are super creepy, now that I think about it. If they really did get bigger I think they could totally take over like — everything. But if they were only a little bit bigger you could keep them as pets! If you wanted to, I guess. [ Do ants like going for walks, question of the hour. ]
I guess they'd make pretty cool pets, huh? They could help carry all your stuff!! But also I already have Nugget and Sprinkles and I feel like Fjord might freak out a lot if I got a pet ant.
You should get one though!! If you can. I'll come visit!
That's a pretty difficult question. I've encountered many interesting creatures in my travels.
Hmm. I know. One of my favorite experiences has been seeing and taking down a Gallardoza in the flesh. They are creatures so formidable, that legend says the head of a pack of gallardozas in the mountains where I encountered them was able to take down a dragon. Not only are fearsome, but a certain cut of their meat known as "chateaubrilliant" is so delicious and rare, most gourmets can only dream of tasting it during their lifetime.
Ooooooh — we fought a dragon once!! But I think he said he was a little bit of a young dragon that was waiting to get older. Though I guess he kind of attacked us and now he might be dead? [ But the thing also nearly killed her before she just barely managed to get away, so— ]
I saw some pretty cool animals, but my friend — Beau — once got a really grumpy owl. Like, grumpier than she is, and she's pretty grumpy sometimes? The point is, I don't think I've ever seen an animal be that grumpy before ever. His name was Professor Thaddeus! He was a really cool owl, though.
[ We're not talking about the Manticore or the Merrows or even the gnolls, we're talking about a fucking owl ( also, emphasis on "was". ) ]
Twiggy — our friend — said he died but we kinda like, escaped, before we could see him. She was the last one to leave? So he might be dead, but also he was really strong.
Right!! He was suuuuper grumpy like, all the time. I don't think he liked anyone. Don't tell Beau, but when they stood beside each other their grumpiness multiplied. [ JESTER... ]
He like... kind of flew off while we were fighting some bad guys, maybe? We like, called for him, and he never came back. :(
She's another friend of mine!! She's a really cool monk that's like super badass and stuff?? I think you'd really like her if you meet her, even if she's a little bit grumpy.
But I guess she's not really here right now. [ ... ... ...
Anyway. ] That's true!! Except we kind of traveled like... really up north? Like, really, really up north. So I don't think we'll ever really find him again.

Oh, I wouldn't mind a pet-sized ant. I'm not much for pets myself, but the idea sounds interesting.
Is this still Sen, by the way?

You should get one though!! If you can. I'll come visit!
Who's Sen?
no subject
Ah, Sen is my friend, who I intended to message.
... Do you even know who you're speaking to?
no subject
Someone who really likes talking about wombats? And other animals? Who do you think you're speaking to?
no subject
I don't know who I'm speaking to.

You seem to be very interested in animals.

They're pretty cool, aren't they? What's like, the coolest animal you've ever seen??

[ He, proudly, has. ]
What about you?

[ Not that he has any particular love for dragons, seeing as he's cursed by one. ]
Oh, that does sound pretty interesting. I wonder what sort of things could upset an owl enough that it would be perpetually angry.
Was?

That's very unfortunate. Maybe Professor Thaddeus simply went off to have his own adventure. He may come back still.

[ He wonders if the person on the other line is sad at the reminder, given that they sound so fond of this Beau person. ]
Though, I've yet to actually meet you, so that might be a good start.
I see. I hope they're alright.
