I know, right?? Well normally I have this spell that you can talk to people really far away with, but I can only say 25 words and I have to know what the person looks like. And their name. And other stuff, I guess.

Technically I've talked to people I've never met over that too, but like — I haven't really met them yet? So you're the first, technically.

I do like to think of myself as a very interesting individual.

But a spell like that sounds very handy! You could talk to your friends whenever you needed to. Do you know many other spells too?

I used to travel through the skies on a ship with my friends before I arrived here. Is that interesting enough?

Yeah, yeah of course!!

Oooooh— through the skies??? On a ship?! Me and my friends traveled together on a ship for a pretty long time too — we were like, actual pirates and stuff.

But that was in the sea. How did the ship end up in the sky?!

You could say the skies where I'm from are like the oceans where you're from. Every island, every archipelago, is surrounded by clouds and blue skies.

It's a beautiful sight. I wish you could see it for yourself.

That does sound really pretty... did you ever like, draw it?? [ Let her see, let her see ]

You could say that.

But no, I'm afraid I've never been a very good artist. But I'll see if my friend Lyria ever tried to draw the sights we saw. She keeps a very detailed journal.

Oh!! I keep a journal too!!

Well, it's a little bit more like a letter, I guess, so that the Traveler can read about what we did that day and stuff. Except I don't have to send it out 'cause he's a god. [ Jester. ]

Oh, is that so? Is this Traveler a benevolent god that turns an ear to all your prayers?

Well, technically, he's kind of like my best friend, technically. And I'm his favorite I'm pretty sure? So like, if I ask him for a lot of things he gives it to me because he likes me so much.

But a lot of people don't know about him yet! So I help him by telling people about him, 'cause he's pretty cool. I dunno if he'd like hearing a ton of prayers, though. He mostly just likes sketches and pranks and stuff. [ She's basically trying to say he's cooler than your average benevolent god, obviously. ]

Maybe sketches and pranks are the types of prayers he likes most. It sounds like he’s a very fun god, from the way you describe him.

[ Better than the ones that demand nothing but power and war. ]

Do you think he can still hear you, even here?

He is super fun!! And really powerful too — he taught me all the spells I know!! [ As for the other, much more serious question— ]

I hope so? I mean like, he used to come and talk to me all the time but then I started adventuring so it's hard for him to find time when I'm like, all by myself, and stuff.

But he promised me he's watching whenever he can, so — maybe he can see me now?

I guess if he can't I can show him all my sketches when I'm back home, maybe. [ The alternative of never returning isn't really an option she'd like to consider, right now ( or ever ). ]
